1. The short version
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), a website may store cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for without needing your consent. Consent is only required for non-essential cookies, such as analytics or advertising.
The Badger Sett platform uses only strictly necessary cookies. Because of this, we do not set any tracking cookies, and you will not see a cookie consent banner — there is nothing non-essential to consent to.
2. Cookies we use
The following cookies may be set when you use the platform. They exist to keep you signed in and to remember the organisation you are working in.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
__session, __client_uat and related Clerk cookies | Clerk (our authentication provider) | Keep you securely signed in and maintain your authenticated session across pages | Strictly necessary |
selectedOrganizationId | Badger Sett | Remembers which of your organisations is currently active so the platform shows you the right data | Strictly necessary |
Exact cookie names and lifetimes set by Clerk may change as that service is updated; the categories and purpose above remain accurate. Our own selectedOrganizationId cookie is HTTP-only, uses the SameSite=Lax setting, and is served securely in production.
3. What we do not use
To be clear about what is not happening here, we do not use:
- Advertising or marketing cookies
- Third-party analytics cookies that track you across websites
- Social media tracking pixels
- Any consent-management or cookie-banner service
Fonts are served from our own infrastructure rather than a third-party font host, so using the platform does not expose your visit to an external font provider.
4. Managing cookies
Because our cookies are strictly necessary, blocking them will stop you being able to sign in or use the platform. You can still control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking new ones — see your browser's help pages for how. Doing so will affect your ability to use the Services.
5. Cookies on individual Badger tools
This statement covers the Badger Sett platform. Individual Badger tools run on their own domains and may publish their own cookie information. Where a tool uses cookies beyond those described here, that will be covered by the tool's own notice.
6. Contact
For questions about this statement, contact [email protected]. For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.
