The Platform

One platform. Two editions.

Badger Commerce Lite and Badger Commerce Enterprise run on exactly the same core. Lite is purposefully streamlined to launch and grow; Enterprise switches on the search, taxonomy and merchandising a large catalogue needs. Start where you are today β€” moving up is a configuration change, never a replatform.

Built by Kedos Consulting

Built for the enterprise. Now open to everyone.

Badger Commerce comes from Kedos Consulting β€” the team retailers bring in to build the ecommerce platforms behind some of the largest stores in the UK and Europe. FTSE 100 retailers, major telcos and global consumer brands hire us to design commerce that holds up under real scale.

Badger is that work, turned into a product. The same architecture, the same patterns, the same hard-won lessons β€” rebuilt so you can run on them from your first sale to your millionth. It is the platform a year of our consulting would build you, from Β£7 a month.

where Lite starts

The same foundation

Whichever edition you choose, you get the same enterprise core. This is what both include as standard β€” the storefront, the selling, the operations.

βœ“A fast, mobile-responsive storefront
βœ“Product catalogue with variants
βœ“Integrated payments
βœ“Checkout, shipping and fulfilment
βœ“Order processing and tracking
βœ“Customer management
βœ“Marketing and SEO built in
βœ“The same core β€” move up without replatforming

Where they differ

The dividing line is search and merchandising. Lite handles browsing and hand-curated collections; Enterprise adds Badger Search and the taxonomy engine, so a large catalogue organises and merchandises itself.

So which one fits?

Catalogue complexity decides this far more reliably than turnover does. A single Β£5,000 product and ten thousand 50p ones are very different jobs at similar revenue β€” so start with the shape of your catalogue, not the size of your sales.

Lite is right for you if…

  • βœ“Your catalogue is in the hundreds to low thousands
  • βœ“You sell in one market and one currency
  • βœ“Curating collections by hand is still manageable
  • βœ“Browsing and keyword search is enough for shoppers to find things
  • βœ“You want one all-in rate, with no payments contract to negotiate

You're ready for Enterprise when…

  • βœ“Your catalogue is past a few thousand products and still growing
  • βœ“Shoppers need to filter by size, colour, material or brand
  • βœ“Merchandising by hand has stopped scaling
  • βœ“You are opening a second country or currency
  • βœ“Search misses synonyms and long-tail queries
  • βœ“You have the volume to negotiate your own card rates

The more you grow, the more you keep

On Enterprise you never hand us a percentage of your sales. You bring your own card rates and pay a flat fee per order, so as you grow, more of every sale stays with you. Most merchants find that around Β£2m a year in online sales, that is already the better deal β€” and your catalogue usually gets there first: Lite gives you room for up to 5,000 products, and Enterprise takes off the ceiling.

It's a switch, not a replatform

Because both editions run on the same core, upgrading from Lite to Enterprise turns these capabilities on with a configuration change β€” your storefront, catalogue, orders and customers all carry over untouched. You never rebuild, and you never migrate off Badger to grow.

Works with the whole toolset

Either edition β€” and any platform you already run β€” works with the rest of Badger Commerce. Each tool is its own subscription, sharing one account and one login, and talking to the same catalogue. Standalone by default, better together.
